Bolzano Film Festival Bozen

The 37th Bolzano Film Festival Bozen (12 - 21 April 2024) will officially kick off on Friday 12 April 2024 with a screening of the 1919 silent film Blind Husbands by Erich von Stroheim.
On the opening evening, at the same time in the three cinemas of the Filmclub, Stroheim's directorial debut film will be screened in a restored and viralised version by the Österreichische Filmmuseum in Vienna and, for the first time in Italy, with live musical accompaniment thanks to the collaboration with the Südtirol Jazz Festival Alto Adige.
Dedicated to the mountain guide Sepp Innerkofler, Blind Husbands was filmed at Universal Studios with a backdrop of the Dolomites of Cortina d'Ampezzo and was a great success at the time.

Closing the festival on Saturday 21 April will be Linda and the Chicken, a small animated masterpiece directed by Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach, which won Best Film at the Annecy Animation Festival.
