Description
St. Josef Campsite blends neatly into the landscape on the south-western shore of the lake at Kaltern-Caldaro where the lake appears to merge seamlessly into the unspoilt adjoining biotope.
Set amidst dense reeds and tall cypresses near the lake shore with the Mendel-Mendola mountain ridge rising protectively up in the background, it attracts cyclists and walkers, nature lovers, bathing guests, wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
The Kalterer See lake lies along one of the most beautiful stretches of the South Tyrol Wine Road, between the slopes and hills where Kaltern-Caldaro’s wine is allowed to mature at its own pace.
Camping guests will also find peace, quiet and relaxation here. There are popular bathing beaches and busy restaurants and pizzerias nearby, yet the campsite provides guests with pleasant seclusion.
A narrow path through reeds leads straight to a wooden jetty, the campsite’s private ‘beach’, allowing access to water that is the clearest in the lake.
This is where you can feel at one again with nature without having to sacrifice comfort. St. Josef am See Campsite features a vine-covered restaurant and cafè, a small shop selling a range of useful goods, and quiet pitches on well-groomed lawns.
