Below you find some hiking tips which are worthwhile also for dogs. You can choose between easy walks, such as the ones along the Peace Trail, on the Kastelaz Path from Termeno to Cortaccia or through the shady Tröpfltal valley in Caldaro, and demanding hikes such as the Caldaro High Route or the tour from the Passo della Mendola mountain pass to the 2,116 m high Mt. Roen.
Please pay attention to the information regarding altitude difference, trail conditions and distance to avoid a potential physical overload of your four-legged companion. Don't forget to take always water along, to collect the excrements of your dog and to keep him on a lead.
By the way: on the Mendola Funicular, such as on all other public means of transport in South Tyrol, dogs are allowed. The regulations include that you have to bring a muzzle, that your dog is kept on the lead, has its own ticket and does not disturb or annoy the other passengers.
