Besides the three big family highlights around Lake Caldaro - the lake itself, the sport & adventure pool in Termeno and the Caldaro Adventure Park - there are also many other interesting spots and activities to try and to discover. Beautiful places immersed in nature are the Lake Caldaro Biotope with its Nature Experience Trail and the wooden tower for bird watching, the Peace Trail in the Castelvecchio Forest, or the wild romantic Rastenbach Gorge characterised by small brooks and ivy-covered trees. It features also the first secured bat cave of the region.
If you'd like to do a longer tour, you may explore the natural phenomenon of the Ice Holes in the neighbouring village of Appiano, do a pleasant bike tour around Lake Caldaro with a stop at an ice cream parlour, or take the Mendola Funicular to the Passo della Mendola mountain pass and discover the mountain world in the south of South Tyrol. Also sport is announced with minigolf, horse riding, standup paddleboarding, pedalo rides or learning how to windsurf.
In the later hours, however, the traditional summer evenings await you - the Long Wednesday in Termeno and the Long Thursday in Caldaro - which offer also something for families: Besides sweet treats there are kids' flea markets, handball, a chess club and games on the programme.
