For those who want to learn windsurfing, the popular surface water sport, Lake Caldaro is exactly the right place

Main meeting place for windsurfers is the bathing establishment at the Gretl am See restaurant in San Giuseppe al Lago (St. Josef am See). There - with direct access to the lake - are the only windsurf school of South Tyrol and one of the few surf shops in the surroundings: the specialised shop offers also swim- and leisurewear as well as surf board, pedal boat and SUP rental.
From the end of May to the beginning of September the windsurf school organises weekly basic courses with professional windsurf instructors, which end with an internationally recognised basic windsurfing license, issued by the VAW. Furthermore there are children's courses and private lessons on offer. Surf school, restaurant and bathing establishment are run by the former Windsurfing World Champion Klaus Maran.
Also the Caldaro Surf Club is directly located at the lakeside in San Giuseppe al Lago, whereas next to the swimming pool LIDO there is the clubhouse. Every year the Surf Club organises several events, such as the International Regatta at Lake Caldaro, the race of the sports association and the legendary "Stegfete" party at the lakeside.

More information
Basic windsurf courses for adults and children every week from Monday to Wednesday or Thursday to Saturday: theory and practice with the surf instructor from 9 am to noon time, in the afternoon independent practice on the water.
